Insufficient permissions for setting the configuration section 'defaultProxy'. - Previous issue confusing

description

We continue to get this error when trying to use this web part, even though we can use other readers to go to the feed directly from the same browser window.

I saw the previous issue and the 'fix' changing IPermissions, however I'm not sure where to do that to get this to work in our WSS 3.0 environment. It works on our dev box that doesn't go through port 80.

Can anyone advise how to get this working?

In case anyone needs it.....

My setup is WSS 3.0 on Win Server 2008 R2.

From what I can tell, the webpart install seems to have tweaked the web.config to reference a custom trustlevel as determined under the section <system.web><SecurityPolicy>

In my case this was pointing to a file: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\12\CONFIG\wss_custom_wss_minimaltrust.config

In that file, is placed an entry under <NamedPermisisonSets> beginning <PermissionSet class="NamedPermissionSet" version="1" Description="WSPBuilder generated permissionSet" Name="obilogicrssreader.wsp-177c9072-d85e-4322-a753-a3ee1a19afbf-1">

Find:

<URI uri="$OriginHost$" />
<URI uri="http?://.*" />

and replace with:

<URI uri=".*" />

(Just one entry)

Restart IIS: iisreset /noforce

Interestingly, I also have the Firearrow RSS feeder installed and this has specified the correct setting. I may be wrong, but I think the fault lies in the configuration of this webpart. Glad I have it working however as I much prefer this rss reader.
